Animation Pricing

A way of working out pricing. There is no fixed price for animation.  We work with a mix of UK and Far Eastern production talent, which helps us control our pricing and offer our customers competitive rates.

We also work with both AI and traditional animation, depending on the job’s requirements. The AI prices are usually around 50% of the traditional animation prices marked below.  So, for 3D animation, UK£750 will be 50% for AI work at UK£375 per minute.

Note that it’s quite customary for AI animation to go through model image creation, movement development, and then many iterations of AI use, with additional traditional components added to achieve the desired look and feel.  Pure AI generation is less structured and more random, which affects the required output.

Here are some guide prices, but none of these are an actual quote:

1. One minute 2D animation explainer with motion graphics.  Allow around UK£500 per minute
2. One minute 3D animation explainer with motion graphics. Allow around UK£750 per minute
3. One minute of 2D animation for entertainment.  Allow around £1,000  just for animation (note this excludes all the other elements involved)
4. One minute of 3D animation for entertainment.  Allow around £1,500-2,000 just for animation (note this excludes all the other elements involved
5. Storyboards for one minute of animation.  Allow around £300 per minute of storyboards.
6. Scripts for one minute of animation. Allow around £100  per minute of writing.
7. Complete production of 2D or 3D animation from concept through to full execution. Allow around £5,000 upwards for 1-3 minutes of completed animation.
